The six cottages, Barleycorn, Woodsage, Sweetbriar, Hazelnut, Holly and Honeysuckle (sleeping 4,6,4,4,2 and 2 respectively) have been sympathetically converted from stone barns, whilst retaining many exposed beams and original features. All have ‘stable doors’ providing sunshine and fresh air in fine weather.
They are all furnished with care and attention to detail, giving each individual character and interest. Barleycorn and Woodsage have wood-burning stoves. All of the cottages have night storage heaters, convector radiators and electric blankets.
Bathroom toiletries, fresh linen and towels are provided for your comfort. Facilities include colour televisions, videos, CD music systems and well equipped kitchens with electric cookers and microwaves. All bathrooms have over-bath electric showers.
A separate tourist information room, stocked with leaflets, guide books, maps and brochures on the local area, contains a shared pay-phone, paperback lending library and laundry facilities. From here the stairs lead to a children’s play area with a small snooker table, games and books.
Parking is provided in the courtyard and there are benches and tables ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks. The walled garden is a perfect place for relaxing on a sunny afternoon.
Cots, highchairs and a stair-gate are available on request. Your pet is welcome in certain cottages by prior arrangement.
Cream teas and delicious home-cooked evening meals can be ordered in advance and delivered to your cottage. Original farmhouse recipes include Shrewsbury Lamb and Shropshire Honeyed Chicken.
